Hon Omogbehin

At the beginning of the 8th National Assembly, the people of Okitipupa/ Irele Federal Constituency like other federal constituencies participated in the March 28 2015 general elections. After a rigorous electioneering and a keenly contested election the people voted massively for Prince Mike Adeniyi Omogbehin to represent them at the House of Representatives with the hope for better, efficient and effective representation.
Though his clear victory was challenged at the tribunal, and subsequently at the appellate court, it was finally laid to rest on 9th of November 2015 by the Appeal Court led by Justice Muheed Owoade, resolving the matter in favour of Hon. Omogbehin.
As a noble prince of the land, Omogbehin has never disappointed his people. Based on this well-known pedigree of his, he swung into action immediately with the desire to fulfill his electioneering promises which were encapsulated in his TRIPOD AGENDA.
After 1095 days of effective representation, Hon Omogbehin has been able to live up to his campaign promises by giving out bursary to 690 undergraduate students, all the Law School students from the constituency and facilitated scholarship programme to eleven members of the constituency to study at various Nigerian private universities.
In fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Omoghehin has initiated and completed two libraries and a civic center spread across the two area councils that make up the constituency. In addition, the ongoing librararies in Moribodo College, Illutitun, Layelu Grammar School Ode- Aye and civic centre in Irele are almost completed.
As a result of the motion moved by the lawmaker on the devastating erosion threatening communities in Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency on Thursday, 26th January, 2017, they are myriads of ongoing projects in the constituency credit to the lawmaker which includes channeling of erosion in Ajegunle Street Igbotako, culvert project at Urelejare Ikoya, repair of damaged bridge linking Iju- Odo and Ilutitun, drainage construction at Baale street Okitipupa, and the reactivation of business Incubator Centre in Igbotako to serve Ondo, Ekiti and Edo states, among others.
The constituency has never witnessed the sort of empowerment programmes that have taken place in the last three years since democracy returned to the shores of the country in 1999. All thanks to Hon. Omogbehin who has raised the bar of governance beyond the pedestrian limit it used to be in the years gone by.
Some of the empowerment projects of the distinguished lawmaker includes: distribution of grinding machine, generators, motorcycles sewing machine, scanning machine, tyre gauge to artisans, training of farmers on post season intervention, training and empowerment of One Hundred and Twenty constituents by the Niger Delta Development Commission, training of sixty constituents by the Nigeria Directorate of Employment (NDE) in various skill acquisition programmes. At the end of the trainings, the beneficiaries were given a token amount of capital each to kick start their own economic activities.
In his efforts to actualize the rural health leg of the agenda, Hon Omogbehin donated 2 mobile ambulances stuffed with medical equipment to Okitipupa and Irele Local Government Areas that constitute the federal constituency and also organised festival of surgeries where two hundred and twenty constituents were treated freely with scores having surgical operations.

As unemployment continues to ravage the country, the lawmaker has been able to facilitate employment for thirteen unemployed youth of the constituency across ministries agencies and parastatals.
As it stands with his unprecedented achievements as a first-timer, the people of the constituency are more than ready to give their support to the lawmaker in ensuring his re- election as they believe his second coming will be more effective and rewarding.
